The Devera D. Ball National Alumni Association and Foundation House is located at 100 Delta Drive in Itta Bena, MS, in the historic College Heights Subdivision just adjacent to the University's campus. The house formerly belonged to the University's first president and wife, Dr. and Mrs. James Herbert White. Dr. White built the home upon his retirement from the University in 1971.

Dr. White died in 1974 and his wife, Augusta C. "Mama" White in 1991. Some years later, their daughter, Mrs. Ruth Malone, a group of University officials and various alumni came to an agreement in regard to who would take possession of the home. The agreement would allow the MVSU National Alumni Association to purchase the home of the Whites. The opportunity was one that Mrs. Malone decided not to pass up since she knew she preferred to see her parents' home remain a part of the Valley family. Among those who negotiated the arrangement was Devera Dupree Ball, who was the alumni director at the time.

And, so it was, Valley, like so many other institutions, would now have a place where its alumni could transact their business. A place with a true and natural linkage to the University, a place filled with rich tradition and heritage, The Devera D. Ball National Alumni Association and Foundation House.
